What You’ll Do

Serve as the primary legal lead for GalaxyOne, providing strategic counsel on all legal and regulatory matters impacting the platform’s retail-facing products.

Oversee compliance with federal and state regulations governing retail banking, brokerage, cryptocurrency, and lending, including but not limited to SEC, FINRA, CFTC, CFPB, and state-specific financial regulations.

Provide legal guidance on the development, launch, and scaling of GalaxyOne’s financial products, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Advise on legal and regulatory considerations specific to cryptocurrency and blockchain-based financial products, including digital asset custody, trading, and compliance with evolving crypto regulations.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships related to GalaxyOne’s operations, including vendor agreements, clearing relationships, and third-party service providers.

Identify and manage legal and regulatory risks, developing policies and procedures to safeguard the platform and its users.

Work closely with internal teams (e.g., compliance, product, operations) and external counsel to ensure seamless execution of legal and regulatory strategies.

Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in retail financial services and cryptocurrency, providing proactive recommendations to senior leadership.

Manage and oversee any legal disputes, investigations, or regulatory inquiries related to GalaxyOne’s operations.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum of 10+ years of legal experience in regulated financial services, with a focus on retail banking, brokerage, or lending; direct experience in cryptocurrency or blockchain-based financial products strongly preferred.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.

Deep knowledge of financial regulations, including SEC, FINRA, CFTC, CFPB, TILA, RESPA, and state banking/lending laws; familiarity with global crypto regulations (e.g., AML/KYC, FATF) is a plus.

Demonstrated experience advising on legal and regulatory matters in or related to the cryptocurrency or digital asset space, including token offerings, custody, or trading platforms.

Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements with sophisticated financial counterparties.

Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into actionable strategies that support business growth and innovation.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage with regulators.

Proven ability to lead complex legal initiatives, manage external counsel, and mentor junior legal staff. Strong ethical compass and ability to timely identify and elevate issues needing resolution.

Familiarity with fintech platforms, digital financial services, and blockchain technology is highly desirable.
