The Legal team at Chainalysis advises internal and external stakeholders on cryptocurrency and its regulatory landscape. As Product Counsel, you'll advise product, engineering, and other teams on developing and launching blockchain data solutions.

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience with high-growth, publicly-traded companies
  • Active membership with a U.S. state bar in good standing
  • Expertise in legal risks; prior experience working with big data strongly preferred
  • Impeccable communication skills, with the ability to translate legalese into vernacular that everyone can understand
  • A “team player” mentality and solution-oriented mindset
  • Sound business judgment and solid experience resolving complex issues with integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to own tasks and work independently, as well as effectively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders by adapting to different management and work styles
  • An independent, patient, and thoughtful demeanor while being adept at managing shifting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end product life-cycle counsel, from ideation and development to launch, operation and sunset
  • Design, implement, and iterate on policies and scalable processes for data collection, data management and data licensing
  • Advise on frontier technologies relative to our product plans, including but not limited to AI & LLM usage, machine learning, and integration of other third party products into our product offerings
  • Act as the Legal lead for incident management, partnering closely with our R&D and security teams to resolve critical business issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with managing the Company’s IP portfolio including trademark and copyright registrations, patent harvesting, takedown requests, and IP enforcement
  • Stay abreast of relevant legal and regulatory developments, anticipate business needs, and help prepare for and minimize risks that may arise in the future
  • Partner closely with the Commercial Legal team to advise on customer deals and a variety of partnership models from resellers to technology partners
  • Project manage a variety of company initiatives, product workflows and incident response action including but not limited to: cross-functional risk management, non-standard and bespoke product offerings, third party complaints and disputes
  • Identify issues that may fall outside your expertise, driving resolution by partnering with other members of the Legal team and with outside counsel
