Job Description

Shape LATAM expansion strategy, assess legal risks, and ensure compliance in new markets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead legal strategy for jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction entry decisions.
  • Secure and relay advice on threshold risks and requirements for entering new markets.
  • Manage local counsel to secure clear, actionable input efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders involved in preparing for rollout in new geographies.
  • Collaborate with Legal counterparts to ensure necessary licenses, permits, and registrations are obtained.
  • Ensure consistent, accurate messaging and materials to stakeholders, authorities, and users.
  • Develop a deep understanding of strategies and provide practical advice in each jurisdiction.
  • Proactively contribute to the Legal team’s planning, cohesion, and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of post-law school experience, with BigLaw experience and/or fast-paced startups.
  • Hands-on problem-solver, understanding on-the-ground complexities and building scalable solutions.
  • Excellent academic credentials and qualified lawyer in good standing with eligibility to practice in LATAM.
  • Previous experience supporting multi-jurisdictional legal challenges.
  • Experience developing and providing legal support for international growth plans.
  • Proven track record in licensing and working in a cross-functional team to launch new operations.
  • Ability to define an agenda and ensure timely execution with judgment, practicality, and proactivity.
  • Demonstrated interest in blockchain technology, Web3, cryptocurrency, and digital assets.
  • Extensive experience living, working, or practicing law internationally and ability to travel regularly.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Positive collaborative attitude, comfort with change, high level of integrity, and intellectual curiosity.
