Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years in Communications with a strong track record in Brazilian media (broadcast, print, online) and an ability to build new relationships.
  • Empathetic, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams across various time zones.
  • Action-oriented with a “get it done” mentality, able to pivot quickly and deliver results on tight deadlines.
  • Skilled, concise communicator with strong project management abilities, capable of balancing time-sensitive projects while maintaining quality across workstreams.
  • Proactive, always looking to innovate and elevate the function.
  • Experience in global disruptive tech/start-up environments; crypto/blockchain/web3 experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to drive impactful results and foster transformational change.
  • Adaptable and energized by change.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
  • Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute targeted communication plans for Brazil, including messaging, audience strategy, media opportunities, and channel selection.
  • Lead media relations, managing press inquiries, interviews, and pitches to drive positive sentiment, building and maintaining top-tier media relationships to elevate World’s storytelling.
  • Craft and deploy localization strategies for global announcements and new product features that inspire press and yield positive coverage.
  • Serve as the media relations and communications leader within the local team, driving World’s narrative across diverse media verticals.
  • Deliver timely crisis communication responses and establish protocols to mitigate reputation risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage Brazil’s external communications agency, monitoring performance and results.
  • Oversee media monitoring, evaluate communication effectiveness, and draft reports to support strategic decisions.
  • Lead content creation for press releases, by-line articles, and other press materials, ensuring message consistency across all platforms.
